NIGHT@ROUND: HALLOWEEN NIGHT RIDE
During the off-road night@round on 31st October, a group of 20 MTBikers accompanied by our five guides defied the gloom of Halloween under a wonderful starry sky in the woods on the Serra in an exciting descent from Andrate to Ivrea. Stopping off every now and then gave them the possibility to admire the view and live the magic of the nighttime wood, as well as for the stragglers to catch up. After the exertion, a break at La Perulina agriturismo helped everyone to get their strength back in a cheerful atmosphere.
The organization put in place by Bikearound arranged a prompt shuttle and bycicle transport service to Andrate, where the night ride started after a short briefing session in the community centre made available by the local administration. The " crocodile" of 20 bikers, with guides here and there, arrived at Croce Serra, where the descent towards Ivrea begins.??Initially taking the track along the crest, the route went deep into the heart of the Serra, racing along the firebreaks alongside the magic Prè lake, then back onto the crest of the moraine and – after an exciting single track path in the wood – starting the challenging "Diagonale" descent. A beautiful view over the lights of Chiaverano was the sign that we were reaching the last stretch down to Maresco di Bienca – suitably fog-bound –bringing the group to Lake Sirio, through the "Terre Ballerine" woods. Everybody was delighted to end up with a toast to the success of the evening, looking forward to the next one.
